New Beauty Products…

20170222_112716-01

I’m always on the hunt for products that are going to reverse the cruel hands of time. Since turning 40 I’ve become a lot more dedicated to making my skin look and feel the best it possibly can and I know this may be a little too late (I spent a lot of my 30’s taking my make up off with a baby wipe!) but I guess starting now is better than doing nothing at all! Now I’m not saying I want to look 20 again, nor am I thinking of going down the Botox/Fillers route – although that’s not to say I haven’t pulled the skin on my face back, longing for a smooth, crinkle free skin, but I prefer to save my money for shoes and bags. I’m also petrified it will go wrong (as it did for my friend who had fillers 3 weeks before her wedding and had an awful reaction resulting in her being unable to open her left eye for 6 days!!)

So its creams, lotions and potions for me – oh and a Derma Roller, but I’ll come back to that shortly!

The first product I’ve fallen in love with is GLAMGLOW Youth Mud

GLAMGLOW Youth Mud £39

This product is amazing!!! You put it onto your face and immediately feel it working! The texture is thick and creamy and the smell is heavenly! Leave it on your face for 10 minutes then add a little water to gently exfoliate as you remove it. My skin felt incredible after using it, plump and hydrated which I love as I’m rubbish at drinking water, and so smooth! Even my husband commented (which he never does!) A great product and one I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

Another GLAMGLOW product and its their Poutmud…

GLAMGLOW Poutmud Wet Lip Balm £16

I suffer terribly with dry cracked lips and with age comes lip shrinkage but this is really moisturising as it’s filled with lovely ingredients such as Almond oil and Shea butter, and it help’s to plump out all of those super fine lines. I pop this on in the morning whilst I do my make up and then then when apply my lipstick my lips are soft and crack free! It has a gorgeous tingly minty scent too.

I posted a blog about my skincare routine a while ago saying I was washing my face with and antibacterial soap and got seriously told off! So I’ve stopped using it and instead I’m alternating between Neal’s Yard Rose face wash..

Neal’s Yard Remedies Rose Facial Wash  £16

And Burt’s Bees Anti Blemish Facial wash…

Burt’s Bees Salic Acid Facial Wash £11.49

Both products leave my skin feeling squeaky clean and smell lovely! My son has actually claimed the Neal’s Yard as he’s stated with a little hormonal acne and it’s just perfect for his delicate 11 year old skin!

Next to hands. I’m always putting hand cream on and I have about 20 tubes of different formulas and fragrances (my favourites being Aesop and L’occitane) but I never look after my cuticles, in fact my nails in general are awful! It’s like I work down a mine! So my best friend treated me to this…

20170222_113001-01

Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream £6.50

I use it religiously before bed every night and its made such a difference to my nails! I used to get a lot of whitlow’s and since using this I havent had a single one!

And finally, the big one….

20170222_113348-01

Skin Radiance Derma Roller £10.99

Okay I’ve only used this once… and it did feel like I was repeatedly hitting myself with a thistle BUT I can already feel my skin reacting. It was very tingly and a little sensitive before I went to bed but when I woke up this morning my face felt great! I’m not expecting miracles just yet and after a chat with one of my favourite blogger’s, Tracey at The Naughty Forty Diaries I’ve been told to give it about 6 weeks and I should notice improvement of my fine lines and wrinkles! It works by regenerating the collagen in your skin and it can also be used on stretch mark and acne scars to reduce their visibility.

I’ve also ordered this…

Pixi Double Cleanse £24

I knew I needed this after watching a review by Kim @ IfTheBabyAllows  ’cause if she says its good and worth the money it’s got to be! It’s not arrived yet but I’ll be sure to let you know my thoughts once it’s here.

So there you have it! I’m most excited by the Derma Roller and although it’s very scary to use, I’m looking forward to some visible results! Let me know if you use or have been thinking about any of these products, or if theres a gem out there that I just need to add to my skin care collection!

Have a great week!

Tracey xoxo
