In my teenage years I longed for Levis. The adverts alone had me begging my parents to let me have a pair of 501’s! Of course watching Nick Caymen strip down to his underwear in a laundrette didn’t help, along with Matt Goss (I was such a Brossette) he was one of my first crushes! There’s just something about them, they’re the epitome of cool! And lets not even talk about how they make your bum look!…actually lets! They make it look great! Peachy and perkier and I’ll take all the help I can to shape my derriere!
My current favourite Levis style is the 711. High wasted, not too elasticated (I hate when jeans look like leggings!) and just the right amount of lift! I managed to nab a pair in the House of Fraser sale a few weeks ago for the bargain price of £35!! (reduced from £90) They were slightly too long for me, unfortunately being short I suffer with this problem a lot! However as raw edging is totally on trend at the moment I took a pair of kitchen scissors to the bottom, frayed them slightly and now they fit me perfectly!

I also love 501’s, I picked mine up last year at a vintage store in Sheffield for £20 and I’ve worn them to death!! Levis re-released the 501 and I have to say at first I didn’t like them, they felt far too big and baggy but they now have a range which are a much slimmer fit, so much better!

I know shopping for jeans can be a nightmare!! So many different cuts, shapes lifts! so you really do need to give yourself plenty of time. I tend to take as many pairs as my arms can carry into the dressing room, that way I’m not flitting back and forth and more importantly having to get changed over and over again!! Another perfect way to buy jeans is to order them to your house!! That way you have your “honest mirror” not the ones they have in store that make you look at least 5 inches taller and 2 stone lighter! (H&M are the worst for this!!) I also have my husband and children who don’t need to say a word, a look alone is enough to tell me something definitely does not fit!
